  • Missing shingles
  • Water stains on the ceiling, cracked paint
  • Noticeable leak

  • Hail & wind damage
  • Rotting plywood
  • Nail pops
  • Cracked pipe collars/boots
And there are several more that only a trained eye would know what to look for! The good news is that you have options! Check out the next question.

Many people think that when their roof leaks, they may need a new roof. That’s not necessarily the case.

Roofs that are less than 20 years old can usually get by with a simple roof repair. It’s always best to have Classic Roofing and Gutters to properly inspect the roof and diagnose the problem. Richard and his team will give you an honest and fair estimate on what is recommended based on your roof.

For roofs that are up in age or poorly constructed, it may be best to install a new roof. See the next question about the costs.

The cost of a new roof installation depends on several factors, the primary ones being:

  • Size of your home
  • Choice of shingle
  • Amount of damaged plywood decking
Call Classic Roofing & Gutters for a customized roof installation quote for your home.

Typically, to remove the old shingles, replace underlayment, and install a new roof for the average-sized home, it takes just one, full day.

When there is additional damage found or plywood needs to be replaced, it can add a little more time.  When we quote your roof replacement, we can give you a more specific time frame then. To learn more about how long your new roof will last, check out our next question.

The condition and lifespan of your roof will depend on the type of roof you have, the effects of your local environment, and the maintenance that your roof has received over the years. Many shingle companies offer manufacturer warranties that vary depending on the type of material chosen. Most roofs that are properly installed, well-maintained, and are undamaged by wind or hail, for example, can last for 25 years or more. To learn more about what it takes to keep a well-maintained roof, go to our next question.

Roof maintenance is one of the most important things you can do to prolong the life of your roof. Some of that maintenance can be done yourself, like blowing off leaves and tree debris from the shingles and keeping your gutter systems cleaned out. Other maintenance should be done by a professional like Classic Roofing & Gutters. We offer a Preventative Maintenance Service for our customers. Please contact us for a quote today!
